Operation Christmas Child Collection Has Begun!
It’s that special time of year again—our church is excited to partner with Operation Christmas Child to bless children around the world with shoeboxes filled with love, toys, and essentials, all while sharing the joy and love of Jesus.
Each week, we’ll be collecting different types of items.
The week of September 29 – October 5, we’re collecting Personal Items.
Examples include:
- Deodorant (stick only – no liquid or spray)
- Combs
- Band-Aids
- Ponytail holders & headbands
- Chapstick (non-medicated, no liquid)
- Nail clippers
- Washable pads
- Toothbrushes
- Sunglasses

Walk through the line and Trunk or Treat to get some goodies on Saturday, October 18th! Trunks must be set up and ready to pass out candy starting at 5:45 PM.
We’ve got a fun lineup of activities for everyone to enjoy beginning at 6 PM:
Music: Groove to the Halloween beats as you wander through our festive event provided by DJ Jim Humphrey.
Hayrides (Weather Permitting): Take a ride through the autumn night, surrounded by crisp fall air.
Sign Up to decorate your trunk today! Set up begins at 4:30 PM. Trunks need to be ready by 5:45. **This sign up is ONLY for those who want to set up a trunk.** Signing up does NOT guarantee you a spot. Our spots are limited and full up quickly so we will contact you to confirm one way or the other.

This Thanksgiving, let’s come together to bless families in our community who need a little extra help. In partnership with families from the Williamsburg and Western Brown school systems, we’re extending this outreach to others locally who may be in need.
How You Can Help:
- Adopt a Family: Sign up by November 2nd to provide a Thanksgiving meal for a family in need.
- Choose how you’d like to assist during the registration process.
- Nominate someone in need through our online registration or by writing their name on a Connect Card and dropping it in the box.
Spots Are Limited!
We’re helping up to 30 families, so don’t wait to get involved.

Community Outreach Event Announcement Join the Outreach Team in Making a Difference at Lightshine Community Center!
Date: Monday, May 11, 2026
Time: 4:15 pm-5:15 pm (arrival time) – 7:00 pm ️
What: We will prepare, provide, and serve a heartwarming meal to approximately 75 people from our community. Additionally, we are seeking volunteers who can spend some time sitting and interacting with the guests while they enjoy their meal.
Where: Lightshine Community Center 4359 E. Bauman Ln. Batavia, OH 45103 (It’s not at The Crossing. It’s the red brick building to the right of the church.)
Come be a part of this wonderful initiative and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Your time and dedication can truly make a difference.
We also need donations of desserts. Please contact Rachel if you can help by providing a dessert for this event.
